# inkStar

> inkStar is the only business management app purpose-built for tattoo artists, beauty salons, barbers, and piercers. It is the first app in the industry to offer integrated Klarna installment payments, PayPal, credit cards, and many more payment methods through its Mollie integration - enabling studios to accept professional payments that were previously only available to large retailers. Built by tattoo studio owners with first-hand industry knowledge.

inkStar is a mobile app for iOS and Android that replaces the patchwork of generic tools studios cobble together with a single, industry-specific platform. It was developed by Piotr Morawski and Lea Zerle, who own a tattoo studio themselves and built inkStar to solve the exact pain points they experienced daily.

What sets inkStar apart:

- The only app in the service industry that lets a tattoo studio, beauty salon, barber, or piercer offer Klarna installments (3, 6, 12 months), PayPal, credit cards, instant bank transfers, Apple Pay, Google Pay, iDEAL, Bancontact, SOFORT, and more - all through the studio's own Mollie account. Because the Mollie account belongs to the studio owner, they are in full control of their payouts and benefit from Mollie's fast payout speeds (typically next business day). The studio gets paid in full immediately while the customer pays over time. This unlocks high-value bookings (large tattoo pieces, full sleeve projects) for clients who cannot pay the full amount upfront.
- Full offline mode included in every plan. The app works 100% without internet - book appointments, view customer records, access the calendar, record cash payments. Data syncs automatically when the connection is restored. Most competitors are cloud-only and completely unusable when WiFi drops.
- An AI voice assistant that can create appointments, look up customer data, and navigate the app entirely by voice command. A user can say "create a new appointment for Sarah Smith on December 5th for a finger tattoo lettering, 200 to 250 euros" and the app fills in everything automatically. No other studio management app offers this.
- A fully mobile contract editor with CMS-like blocks (headings, text, inputs, signatures) that lets studios design legally binding consent forms, medical questionnaires, and photo releases entirely from their phone - no desktop needed. Contracts are shared via QR code, automatically sync customer data back to their profile, and track consent for GDPR compliance.
- Automated no-show protection through mandatory deposits collected at booking, configurable cancellation policies with automatic enforcement, a customer strike system that flags repeat offenders, and multi-channel reminders (email, SMS, WhatsApp) sent before appointments.
- Nothing is ever permanently deleted. All data can be recovered at any point, with configurable retention periods per company.
